Raúl Gabriel Iriarte was born in Bahia Blanca in Argentina. He has the Austrian nationality.
He studied singing with Mario Monachesi (La Plata/Argentina) and graduated in composition and conducting at the Universidad Nacional of La Plata.
As conducter he set up an ensemble for modern music (Grupo de musica contemporanea de La Plata) as well as for ancient music with which he performed the Argentinan debut performance of Monteverdi's Opera - Il ballo delle ingrate.

Once moved to Europe, he continued his studies: composition and conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and Opera singing at the Conservatory of Vienna.
He set up and conducted the vocal ensemble for ancient music "Il diletto moderno" with which he has given many concerts in several important festivals of ancient music in Austria, Germany, Italy , Slovenia and Lebanon.

As opera-singer he started with concerts in Vienna, e.g. with the ensemble "Il giardino armonico" in the Concert House Vienna. Further he has sung operas on different stages in and around Vienna.

During he was member of the Volksoper Vienna he performed several roles such as Gaston (Traviata) and Missail (Boris Godunov).

He successfully took part in different well-known Austrian festivals, e.g.: Theater an der Wien/Klangbogen Wien, Opernair Gars am Kamp, Musikfestival Steyr, Opernwerkstatt Wien, Mozartzyklus UNO Wien.
